U1Supercharged (u1sc) is unofficial custom firmware for the Snapmaker U1 3D printer.

The Snapmaker U1 is a multi-material 3D printer featuring a four-head tool-changing system designed to significantly improve speed and reduce filament waste during multi-material and multi-color printing. It utilizes SnapSwap™ technology, enabling toolhead swaps in as little as five seconds without the need for extensive filament purging, which results in up to five times faster printing and up to 80% less waste compared to conventional methods. Each of the four independent toolheads has its own extruder and nozzle, allowing for true multi-material and multi-color printing with minimal downtime.

The printer is built on a CoreXY motion platform with lightweight, rigid carbon fiber X-axis rails, supporting travel speeds of up to 500 mm/s while maintaining long-term precision across a 270 × 270 × 270 mm build volume.

This firmware enables users to unlock hidden features which are disabled by default, modify existing ones or add completely new capabilities.

At the moment the list of modifications is very short:

In the near future we plan to publish our toolkit which will allow users to create their own custom firmware images with any features they want.

On top of that, we’ll implement:

Snapmaker Third-Party Firmware Disclaimer

This is Snapmaker’s official statement regarding third-party firmware development and U1 printer modifications. It was posted in response to U1Supercharged author at Snapmaker forum -> U1 custom firmware and toolkit. The rest of this page is a verbatim quote of that statement. Community sharing We welcome developers like you sharing discoveries in the community, and you’re free to post your project on the official forum. We want every user who experiments with firmware to do so only after fully understanding the terms, the risks, and the warranty implications. If you plan to continue developing your toolkit, we strongly recommend placing the following notices at the top of both your GitHub repo and your forum thread: “Unofficial — use at your own risk” “May void your warranty” “Does NOT contain any Snapmaker proprietary files” About our open-source plan As previously stated in the U1 Kickstarter FAQ, we will publish the open-source portions of the U1 firmware by the end of March 2026. At that time, most U1 Kickstarter backers will have received their machines, and we welcome users with ideas and skills to submit changes and engage in technical discussions that contribute to the U1 project. ...
